J.P. Bouix, captivated from childhood by the films of Hitchcock, Chaplin, and Murnau, immersed himself early in his passion for cinema by creating adventure and horror stories, which he brought to life through his first stop-motion films.
While pursuing a parallel career in the video game industry as an artistic and cinematic director (Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, A Plague Tale series, Atomic Heart), he directed MOIRES in 2020, a one-shot horror short film that garnered attention at numerous international festivals, including Sitges and MotelX.
In 2024, he directed RONCES, a ghost story exploring the trauma of domestic violence, which was selected for the Méliès d'Argent competition.
With a naturalistic aesthetic blending realism and surnatural, J.P. Bouix is currently developing a first feature film, VAUTOURS, a visceral and dark thriller inspired by a personal experience, which was a finalist at the Grand Prix Climax 2024 edition.
